Duration: 9 hours (1 day) face to face learning and assessment plus 8-14 hours pre-course e-learning and online assessment.

Mode of Delivery: Mixed delivery including Pre-learning (e-learning including online assessment and face to face training and assessment).

Course Times: 8:15 am meet time for 8:30 am course start time (unless otherwise advised by Getabout Office or allocated trainer/training partner).

Unique Student Identifier (USI) required: Yes, all participants must supply a USI to enrol on the course.

Outcomes for RIIVEH201E Operate a light vehicle include:

• Plan long distance driving considering activity, travel duration, passengers, and safety equipment.
• Select and load equipment and/or ancillary attachments.
• Identify, address, and negotiate potential hazards and risks.
• Identify, address, and negotiate environmental issues.
• Operate a vehicle within recommended speed, engine capability and limitations.
• Use vehicle lights and indicators in accordance with traffic regulations.
• Identify and respond appropriately to hazardous and/or emergency driving situations.    
• Conduct routine visual inspections to identify faults and carrying out minor maintenance and repairs.
• Identify defective or irregular performance.
• This course includes gravel roads.

This nationally recognised driving course also includes access to the Getabout E-learning platform for access to resources, pre-course work sheets and theory and practical assessments. CB radio are provided for on the day training.

Getabout endeavours to allow you ample time to read and view e-learning resources in preparation before your driver training day. You are required to complete a short-written exercise based on your pre-learning and knowledge in the e-learning platform.

The Getabout e-learning platform is easy to use. You will need either a smart phone, laptop or other device, and your own accessible email address.
