Big Lap Weekend

Course available at Lithgow, NSW.

Get a group of mates together or treat the family to a relaxed weekend of 4WD training, incredible scenery and stories round the campfire. This two-day course is the perfect getaway – and it will set you up with the skills and confidence to take your next adventure off the beaten track.

You’ll learn:

• the essential 4WD skills for outback touring
• how to tackle the tracks that get you where you want to go
• how to tell when a route is not drivable
• what to pack for the perfect camping trip
• basic running repairs to keep you on track
• recovery techniques in case your vehicle gets bogged
• bushcraft skills – like making amazing damper

How it works

Bring your 4WD vehicle and your camping gear and spend a weekend in the Blue Mountains. Our instructors can advise you on what to take on the ideal offroad camping trip – and what you can leave behind. 

Then it’s time to get behind the wheel to tackle a variety of terrains and try out some new 4WD skills. In the evening enjoy a meal around the campfire, and get inspired for your next adventure.

$830 per couple.

$700 for a single participant.

• Campsite and recovery equipment including CB radio provided for training free of charge
• AQF Certificate included on successful completion free of charge (RIIVEH305E Operate and maintain a four wheel drive vehicle.)
• PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID19 requirements participants will need to bring all their own meals and beverages.
