Certificates/Statements of Attainment will be issued to the student within 30 days from course date if competency achieved and all outstanding accounts settled.

This unit has no prerequisites. However operators will have the appropriate class of driver's licence before taking charge of the vehicle.

Includes:
Prepare vehicle and secure load.
Vehicle familiarisation checks, and/or rectify issues.
Fuel, water and other supplies required
Inspect all ancillary equipment and operational accessories;
Secure loads
route and planning, Interpret access manuals and topographical maps
Obtain relevant authorisations/notifications, communicate journey details
Monitor driving conditions and requirements constantly
Monitor and maintain fluid levels and air pressures.

Report faults or damage to vehicle to appropriate personnel.
Recover vehicle
Operate recovery equipment safely
Perform a battery 'jump start' safely
Change a wheel on a properly jacked vehicle.
Observe site specific vehicle entry restrictions
Follow appropriate search and rescue notification procedures
Follow appropriate procedures for passing large or heavy vehicles.
